If the Gorillaz were pokemon trainers which monsters would they have and where would they live?
Murdoc
I defiantly
believe that Murdoc would have a dark/ghost team behind him, scary and powerful much like himself with no tender side to them.
If he were to have six pokemon I believe they would be:
Seviper €“ It looks cool, dangerous and its colour
scheme is defiantly one that Murdoc would like and plus it had a poisonous blade protruding from its tail. It is also a sneaky
snake much like Murdoc himself who will do almost anything to get hold of some cash and will no doubt wrap itself snugly around
ensnared enemies just to hear them squeal.
Houndoom €“ Despite being a dark type it is also a fire type with
a fiery attitude that is perfect for Murdoc€™s wicked ends. Not only will he have a solid bodyguard he will also
have a permanent flame to light his cigarettes on. I could almost see Murdoc sat in his caravan on an armchair, beer in one
hand, cigarette in the other and his feet on Houndoom while watching free cable. The pokemon will have unwavering loyalty
to his master as a dog is man€™s best friend and Murdoc will undoubtedly be Houndoom€™s closest
fiend.
Banette €“ What does Murdoc need more than anything? A plush toy that nobody will mind him sleeping
with; this possessed pokedoll more than does the trick, a bed partner who wont ever be able to run to the police and tell
them the tale and his chance to get revenge on that TV show rainbow which no doubt gave him nightmares as a child. There is
no way Murdoc can get sick of this pokemon €“ it simply won€™t talk to him! He can also hide it
in 2D€™s room to scare the living crap out of him.
Weezing €“ When Murdoc scores a royal flush
twenty times in a row, rolls double sixes every time, catches an oddly plastic looking giant Gyrados or wins the lottery with
a blood stained card he €œerr, found down the back of the couch€ Yeah.€ He will need a fast escape.
Long before the muscular body building thugs discover he has a couple of aces up his sleeve and two loaded dice he will have
sent out a smoke screen, cleared the table and be long over the horizon.
Murkrow €“ In my series €˜Tears
of a Warrior€™ there was a Murkrow accompanying the trainer Dude, the Murkrow that Murdoc would have would be
the same one; one who has seen the horror of death. I got the idea of incorporating a crow by the fact that on the Gorillaz
website there is one in his caravan and that The Crow was an indestructible super hero; Maybe Murdoc can become the invincible
Crow himself and wear that freaky face paint?
Jigglypuff €“ Purely so he can say €œWhat? If it
was good enough for those Rockets its good enough for me.€ Despite always acting the tough guy I am sure that deep
down inside Murdoc has a heart (Even if it is black and mouldy). Perhaps this pokemon would have been rescued from under the
wheel of his car and brought home by Murdoc who became attached to the little pink fur ball.
If Murdoc were to live anywhere
in the pokemon world I think he would live in Lavender town (hey, its spooky and it had a radio tower he can broadcast the
Gorillaz hits from).
Noodle
I think that Noodle would be more inclined to raise pokemon for battles with love and
care; she would train hard but fairly and be more active in pokemon leagues (she is Japanese after all). I€™m
more than certain she would despise Team Rocket who wants to harm pokemon and would be vicious against them.
Porygon €“
Noodle is Japanese and Porygon incorporates two Japanese themes, origami and computers defiantly a must for her! I would very
much like to see a picture of Noodle riding a Porygon against a sunset.
Pikachu €“ Certainly a bit retro but
it is her privilege as a Japanese girl to have her own Pikachu who has a bad temper; she would have got the idea off of watching
pokemon on TV.
Golduck €“ As Noodle has a strong attachment to the other members of the band it wouldn€™t
surprise me if she has pokemon who reminded her of them; Golduck has similar hair to 2D so would fall into that category;
she would probably have evolved it herself by raising a goofy Psyduck and realising who it looked like after the evolution
(even possibly by comparing photos of 2D in various circumstances to Golduck normally).
Slacking €“ A close
reminder of Russel Hobbs; what does Slaking enjoy doing? Sleeping and eating €“ what does Russel enjoy doing?
Absol
€“ Perhaps not the best representation of Murdoc but defiantly the cutest! Despite having all that white fur
it has red eyes and a razor sharp scythe on its head thereby showing that she still cares for Murdoc despite him being evil.
Ditto
€“ It is easy to get bored with the same look over and over again €“ so with a Ditto Noodle can
get it to turn into any one she wants; not just good for battle but amazing for looking cool with.
If Noodle were to live
anywhere in the pokemon world I think it would be in pallet town; I am sure she would be all into pokemon research and readily
helping professor Oak.
